FAQ

WEBSITES

  • What is the turn-around time for a website?
How quickly a website develops is dependent on many factors including how many projects we have at the time of booking, size of the project, level of intricacy needed, and the level of correspondence between us and the client. Typical time frames range anywhere from 3 weeks to 12 weeks. Before we start a website project we will provide a design brief with a project outline and schedule for your project.
  • Do you provide SEO?

The short answer is yes, we will provide site-based SEO such as adding keywords and meta descriptions to every page. We will also submit your sitemap to google maps and assist you in setting up Google Analytics so that you can keep track of web traffic. That being said, it is important to note that there are many facets that determine your actual page rankings and that the real formula for Google’s SEO algorithm is a closely guarded secret. SEO is kind of like the Lochness Monster of the web. No one has ever really seen this beast known as SEO and there is an array of theories regarding it.

It is important to understand that SEO is not a set it and forget it proposition. It’s an iterative process. You try some things, measure how effective they are and learn what you can for the next round of iteration. For the DIY types, we’ll provide the basics and give you the information you need to continue optimizing your website. If SEO is really important to you and you are interested in having some extra help, we recommend contacting a company that specializes in SEO.

The domain name is the web address for your website. Such as www.happylittledesignstudio.com. It is important to note that every domain name must be purchased and registered. There are annual fees to retain ownership and registration of a domain name. However, we include the first year of hosting and domain registration free for all new website projects.
  • What is hosting?

  • Are there any benefits of hosting with you?
Many of our clients find hosting and domain registration confusing and cumbersome. So we are happy to take care of the back-end work so that you can focus on your business. Additionally, when we host your website we proactively run virus scanners to ensure all of our hosted websites remain virus free. As an extra precaution, we also make back-up copies of all of our hosted websites. LOGOS

  • What is the turn-around time for a logo?
Logo development can take anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months. It’s important to note that some logo designs develop more quickly than others. How quickly a logo design develops is often dependent on level of intricacy required for the logo design, the level of correspondence we receive from the client, and how many projects we have at the time of booking.
  • Why is it worth spending money on a logo?

We feel all sustainable businesses deserve a professionally designed logo. Here are a few reasons why.

    • A logo will help put your best face forward.

Your logo will often be the first piece of your business potential clients will come in contact with. So make that first impression a good one! Having a professionally designed logo is a sign of success and sustainability.

    • A logo will establish a tone, voice and personality for your business.

Establishing a voice for your business and using it consistently in all of your marketing efforts will make your business appear more organized, more credible and more likely to be around for the long-haul. People feel most comfortable investing their money and loyalty into businesses that they feel will be around for a long time. Having logo provides a sense of permanency.

    • If you invest in your business – your clients will feel more comfortable investing in your business too.

If you don’t feel your business is worth investing in a professional face and well-planned identity – there’s a good chance your clients will not feel comfortable investing their money in your business either.

    • A logo will help your business stand out against competitors.

Think about it this way; if your business and a competitor offer the same exact product or services at similar pricing, but one business has a logo and the other doesn’t… which one would you choose and why? Chances are the business with a logo and brand identity are going to appear more established and more credible.

  • What makes a good logo?
Our design ideology regarding logos is that simple, legible, and graphical logos are the most effective in being memorable, recognizable, and long-lasting. We feel that providing overly detailed logos is a disservice to our clients as they do not shrink down well, are harder for clients to remember, and will not stand the test of time.
  • How do I know you will design the logo I want?
Whether you choose to work with us or another studio, the best thing you can do is review previous logo examples. Past work will tell you a lot about that studio’s style and design tendencies. We always invite clients to review our portfolio to ensure our style will align with their visions.
  • How much does a logo design cost?
Our logo & brand identity packages start at $375. All of our logo & brand identity packages also include a business card design and 250 printed business cards. Contact us for more info on our packages.
